“Show and Tell”
(listening and speaking activity)
Please bring something meaningful to share in our Zoom class. It could be your favourite book, toy, game, picture (friends/family/Father's Day) etc.
How to prepare yourself for “Show and Tell”:
- Introduce yourself and your item
- Talk about 3-5 important things you want to share about your item
- The other students will listen and can ask some follow-up questions, so be ready to answer questions about your item.
- Vocabulary words: Practice reading and writing the following words در ۔ وردی ۔ ہے ۔ ہیں ۔ زرد ۔ ایک
Please continue to practice reading and writing letters, words and sentences from your Urdu book over summer break. Make sure you finish and review it as well.

(Students will do 5-minute homework everyday)
- My Family: Vocabulary Words: Identify, break down (as shown below), read, and write the letters of the following words and draw pictures on a piece of paper and put the paper in your Urdu folder.
2. Practice reading and writing the following sentences
( یہ زارا ہے ) , (یہ رس ہے ), (یہ دروازہ ہے )
3. Joining letters: Join “م” with ا ۔ و ۔ ی ۔ ے and practice reading the connected words (reading and writing activity, page 56).
4. Review: Practice reading and writing the following letters

1) Vocabulary Words: Turn to page 55 of your Urdu book and read aloud the names of the vegetables in Urdu. Write the names beside the vegetables on the given lines.
2) Identify, break down (as shown below), read, and write the letters of the following words:
آلو۔(آ ل و) مٹر۔(م ٹ ر) گاجر( گ ا ج ر)
3) Names of the vegetables: Practice reading and writing the following sentences
( یہ آلو ہے ) , ( وہ مٹر ہے ), (یہ گاجر ہے ) on a piece of paper.
4) Review: Read and practice writing the following letters ر ۔ ڑ ۔ ز ۔ ژ on a piece of paper and put the paper in your Urdu folder.

- Vocabulary Words: Turn to page 54 of your Urdu book and read aloud the names of the fruits in Urdu with parents' help. Write the names on the given lines as well.

- Names of the fruits: Practice reading and writing the following sentences ( یہ آم ہے ) , (یہ آڑو ہے ), (یہ سیب ہے ) on a piece of paper.

- Reading and writing activity: Students will brainstorm some words that start with “Alif” ” ا” (with parents’ help). Practice writing “Alif” ” ا” on a piece of paper and put it in your Urdu folder.
- Review: Read and write letters ج ۔ چ ۔ ح ۔ خ on a separate piece of paper and put the paper in your Urdu folder.

عید مبارک! عید الفطر کا کارڈ بنائیں
Eid Mubarak! Create an Eid Ul Fitr card!
This week we will make beautiful Eid cards to wish our friends and families. You can also use paint, crayons, stickers, colored paper, pieces of cloth, glitter glue, design tape etc. to decorate your card. Be creative! Send me a picture of your lovely “عید مبارک” card when you are finished.
- Reading and writing activity: Students will brainstorm some words that start with “Bari Yey” ” ے” (with parents’ help). Practice writing “Bari Yey” ” ے” on a piece of paper and put it in your Urdu folder.
- Fill in the blanks and vocabulary words: Turn to page 52 in Urdu book and read aloud the names of the pictures in Urdu. Then write the first letter of the given pictures on the blank lines.
- Joining letters: Join “ل” with ا ۔ و ۔ ی ۔ ے and practice reading the connected words (reading and writing activity, page 53 ).

(Students will do 5-minute homework everyday)
- Reading and writing activity: Students will brainstorm some words that start with “Choti Yey” ” ی”(parents can help). Practice writing “Choti Yey” ” ی” on a piece of paper and put it in your Urdu folder.
- Joining letters: Join and write “ک” - “گ” with ا ۔ و ۔ ی ۔ ے and practice reading all the given words from کا ر to جا گے (Urdu book page 50).
- Answer the function questions: Parents can ask some questions to their child related to the pictures for example, what do you use to write? or what do you do with a pen? (Urdu book page 51)

- Vocabulary Words: Joining letters: Join “ع” and “غ” with the letter Alif and practice reading the connected words "Aaa- عا " and "Ghaa- غا" (Urdu book page 45).
April 20-24

- Reading and writing Activity: Practice reading and writing Urdu letter “Hay” looks like ”o”
- Vocabulary Words: Practicing saying the names of the pictures in Urdu and write the first letter of the picture on the given lines (Urdu book page 42)
- Identifying Words: Read, Identify, and circle these words (sa, su, see, say, sha, shoo, and صا۔ صو ) (Urdu book page 43). Practice writing the above words on a piece of paper.
April 13-17

- Reading and writing Activity: Practice reading and writing Urdu letter “Wao” “و ”
- Matching Words: Practicing saying the names of the birds in Urdu and draw a line to match the words to the pictures (Urdu book page 40)
- Joining Letters: Joining 2 letters ص and ض with alif, wao, choti yeh and bari yeh (Urdu book page number 41). Examples:: صا۔ صو۔ صی صے
- Read and practice writing the above words on a piece of paper and put it in your Urdu folder.

- Reading Activity: Counting in Urdu from 1-20 (read aloud, speaking skills)
- Review: Read and write letters Alif, Bay, Pay, Th,y , Tay, Say on a separate piece of paper and put the paper in your Urdu folder.
- Review Urdu letters “Laam, Meem” and practice writing the letters. Students should draw 3 pictures that start with the letters “Laam, Meem”
- Reading and Writing Activity: Turn to Urdu book page no. 37 and read the words Topi (cap), Dool (bucket), Aag (fire), and fill in the blanks

- Urdu Calendar: Days of the week, today’s date, weather and counting 1-20 (daily reading activity).
- Review the sounds/phonics of the letters “Fay, Kaaf and Ghaf”.
- Urdu book page no. 36: Read and trace letters "Seen and Sheen" and brainstorm some words that start with these letters (reading and writing activity).
- Practice writing the short forms of seen and sheen letters.
- Joining letters: Join seen and sheen with the letter alif and practice reading the connected words "saa" and " shaa" (reading and writing activity).
